WoundExpert® Fourth Quarter Update Released

PITTSBURGH, PA (January 11, 2010) – Net Health released several significant system enhancements as part of the 4th Quarter 2009 WoundExpert software update.

The fourth quarter release includes enhancements to the WoundExpert software developed in support of the HITECH Act meaningful use criteria. A new Orders Interface enhances the Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) feature and includes: Order Placement and Status Tracking, Receipt of Results, and Communication of Critical Results. By successfully integrating the new Orders interface, WoundExpert clients can streamline the ordering process, allowing results to be available to the provider more quickly.

The company also announces updates to the insurance tracking feature to accommodate the facility’s clinical flow by providing co-pay tracking directly from the Calendar, and authorization documentation within the patient’s visit screen. The system can identify payers and authorization schedules as active or inactive, as well as provide a warning so users know how many authorizations remain. This functionality offers a more automated record keeping process, enables staff to more efficiently track insurance authorizations and co-pays, and better classifies payers for billing purposes.
